Immune Boosting Wellness Shot

I’m the type of person who is extremely stubborn when it comes to getting sick! Although I’m good about getting a yearly physical, I don’t like taking medicine and basically have to be on the brink of death before going in for medical care. I am also a believer in spoken word, meaning that I can will away the cooties with the power of my mind and tongue! However, every now and then I’ll admit to defeat and now is that time I’m afraid. The boogie man got me!

It’s actually a humbling experience, I must say! I’ve been challenged to listen to my body and slow down. I’ve cancelled workouts/spin classes, have slept my days away, and even called in sick from work (twice)! Additionally I’ve been relying on natural home remedies, like gargling warm salt water multiple times per day and making my own teas/tonics/shots.

Immune Boosting Wellness Shot

Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 3 inch piece ginger root 2 tablespoons of juice
  • Cayenne Pepper
  • dash Oregano Oil Optional

  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 3 inch piece ginger root 2 tablespoons of juice
  • Cayenne Pepper
  • dash Oregano Oil Optional
Instructions
  1. Squeeze and collect the juice of the orange, lemon, and ginger*. Mix the juices together and divide between two shot glasses. Top each glass with a sprinkle of cayenne pepper and shoot it back.
  2. *If you don't have a juicer, microplane the ginger and squeeze the pulp through a cheese cloth.
